The largest car maker of the country is planning on reducing the indirect import cost by 5-10 percent in order to reduce the risk involved in the variation of foreign exchange rates. In FY 2011-12, because of the strong yen weak Rupee against it, Maruti Suzuki had to shell out Rs. 280 crore for the vendors as compensation.
